When I was shooting the outfits for this blogpost I unintentionally managed to wear the exact same pair of jeans in all three of my outfits…but can you really blame me? Light wash jeans are just so versatile for summer so for today’s post I’m going to show you three different looks I’ve been loving for this late summer weather.
2019 has just started for me in Paris and today I’m coming at you guys with another outfit that has some serious badass vibes. I guess my newfound style must be a side effect of the new year because whenever I have a lot of things coming my way in life, I always love to dress as fierce as possible so that I can take on new challenges with confidence.
I was so happy that when I was back home in Ireland for the holidays I got to pay a visit to the massive TopShop store on Stephen’s Green. I’m not gonna lie when I say that I’ve been building my wardrobe primarily from TopShop ever since I discovered it in secondary school and it’s a place I miss shopping in a lot since moving to Paris. Today’s outfit is all about two key components of the parisien outfit; simplicity and quality. Let’s begin!
There can be no denying the fact that living between the fashion capital of the world and the colorful streets of Dublin has had a serious influence over my sense of style. While fashion in Paris typically tends to be more classical, revolving around basics pieces and signature items, Dublin street style is a lot more daring and eccentric.
Today I thought I would put together two outfits, one in Dublin and one in Paris to show the contrast between these two unique cities.
A Vintage Inspired OOTD
When it comes to winter fabrics that radiate luxury there can be no doubt that velvet trumps all when it comes to capturing our hearts during the colder months. If you’ve been on our blog for a while now you’ll know that my long standing love affair with with this ever-elegant fabric has been eternally intense, especially now that the holidays are here and the harsh December weather is in full swing here in Paris. This outfit of the day is all about adding a little colour to the dull winter days.
A Trip to the South Of France
Hey everybody! I hope you’re all doing well. I know it’s been quite a while since I last made a post on my blog but lately things have been quite hectic in Paris. That’s why for this weekend I decided to take a small break from the chaos of college and blogging and embark on a little journey to the South of France.
Over the weekend I got to visit Nice, Marseille and Monaco so look out for more travel posts to follow!
The first city of three that I visited was Marseille. It’s a gorgeous little port city located on the coast.
An Autumnal Outfit of the Day (Featuring Topshop)
Between chai lattes, carving pumpkins and sweater weather, October has always been my favourite month of the year. There’s just something about the multi-coloured leaves drifting down from the brassy trees, the sunsets on the shorter evenings and the beginning of the colder weather that just radiates so much comfort and cosiness.
There can be no doubt that when Autumn arrives, one of the best things about the season is the feeling of wrapping up roastily and toastily in layers and layers of warm clothing. Not only just because it’s a super practical way of staying warm as the weather changes, but also because the more layers you add to your look, the more creative you can be with your outfit.
It feels like a while since I last made an outfit post for you guys. To be honest, things have just been so hectic since the run-up to moving to France so I haven’t really had the time to go out and shoot any fashion pics at all. Recently enough though I had the opportunity to visit the Palace of Versailles just outside of Paris. Because the location is just so beautiful and dazzling beyond words, I decided to take the opportunity to show you guys one of my absolute favourite go-to outfits at the moment.

Spring is in the Air!
The change in season is a great excuse to experiment with cool new spring styles and to reinvent your image by indulging in some new outfits. I’m not quite sure what it is exactly but there’s just something about the mystique of SS17 that has caused me to do exactly that. In light of the new season and the brighter days to come, this lookbook is simply overflowing with sunny new spring styles that I just know you’re really going to love. Blouse Available at Primark/ Skirt Forever 21/ Satchel Accessorize
There’s nothing quite so refreshing as the breezy feeling of a simple denim skirt/white blouse combo on a sunny day. For this look I went for a sort of college-chic type of aesthetic by pairing it with a cute leather-look satchel to give the outfit a sweet vintage feel. The best thing about this look though has got to be the fact that the blouse is covered in love heart sweets with cute sayings written all over. If that doesn’t make things that little bit more exciting then I don’t know what does!
Dress Liz Lisa (via Depop)/Maxi Cardigan Om Diva Boutique/ Handbag Louis Vuitton (via Siopaella)/Floral Choker Accessorize
No lookbook on love-mew.com would be complete without featuring at least one thrifted outfit. This dress is from a Japanese fashion brand called Liz Lisa, so the style is nostalgic and very doll-like. Patchwork is a huge trend this season and this dress gives the trend a type of girlish charm that’s both timeless and elegant. To compliment the youthful vibe of the outfit, I of course had to add some florals. (for spring? Groundbreaking I know!) My floral bag is a Louis Vuitton while his beautiful lace maxi that I have draped over me is a vintage steal à la Dublin’s one and only Om Diva Boutique. Faux Leather Jacket Zara/Floral Dress Asos/Mini Backpack Accessorize
If there’s one rule for Spring it’s to never be afraid of a pair of oversized statement sunnies and a bold pattern to guide you along your happy fashion travels. For this outfit I wanted to go for a look that was romantic, chic yet laid back and edgy. And let’s be honest here, there really is no better way of doing that other than opting for the classic a-line dress/leather jacket combo. I think that this mini backpack really brings the colour in the outfit to life. As for the leather jacket, there can be no denying the fact that it gives any outfit a certain type of bad-girl attitude that is simply unrivalled by any other wardrobe staple in the face of existence. If it’s the aesthetic asf type of look you’re after then you simply can’t go wrong with a leather jacket to nail any style.
Faux Suede Jacket Zara/ Top River Island/ Distressed Denim Jeans River Island/ Mini Backpack Accessorize/ Choker Accessorize/ Cat Eye Sunglasses Asos
This final outfit is something a little more on trend and probably my favourite of all in the lookbook. Pastels are always so much fun for spring because they add so much brightness to any outfit. This season we’re saying goodbye to our dreary black winter coats and swapping them out for more colourful outerwear. With the onset of brighter days and longer evenings well underway, this dusty pink suede jacket from Zara is a must-have piece for a look that is fun, fresh and feminine. Gingham has dominated the fashion scene lately so for this look I decided to shamelessly join the trend brigade and style this bow-knot tank with a pair of distressed denims. Of course I had to style this outfit with the same red backpack that I carry everywhere with me because life is no fun unless you clash colours and commit the formidable faux-pas of pairing red with pink. So rebellious I know.

I’m back with a haul!
Hey everyone! It’s Mew. I really hope that you’re all having a really happy New Year so far and that 2017 is being good to you.
Lately I’ve been on a sort of blogging hiatus and spending a lot of time catching up with friends, family and of course some shopping in the sales!
One of my favourite things about the new year is not only looking forward to seasons ahead, but also to the exciting new trends that they’ll bring along with them! That said though, I always have so much fun reflecting on my favourite trends of the past year and scouring the sale rails and seeking out staple pieces that I can bring along with me into the coming year.
As you can probably guess from the title, I got a little over excited when I set foot in TopShop earlier this week so I decided to put together this haul for you. Are you ready? Let’s start!
