Beauty Kits to Start the Year

Going back to school and uni is always rough, especially when the time comes where we have to admit to ourselves that the summer is actually over and early mornings are about to become a daily thing again. As a person who hates the feeling of rotting away in classes I don’t care about, the end of the summer tends to bring about a lot of stress and existential dread for me. (Can any fellow arts students relate?)

On the other hand though, there is something nice about this time of year. The late summer always makes me feel pretty nostalgic for when I was still actually in school and then there’s the fact that the silver lining of the back to school season is that it’s a great excuse to treat yourself to some new things.

We all deserve to start the year out feeling  refreshed and renewed after the summer break. You don’t need to buy a whole new wardrobe. Sometimes something as simple as changing up your makeup can be invigorating enough to take on the new year.

Hey everyone! I’m finally back in Paris after my trip to Portugal and back to the grind again. Now that summer is drawing to a close I can’t help but wish these long days of freedom could just last forever. I’ve been having a hard time accepting that the back to school season has already started up for so many of you and next week it will finally be my turn to take up my studies again too. That being said though, I’ve been having a lot of fun doing some last minute back to school shopping, especially where beauty is concerned. Today I thought I’d share my top beauty picks from Sephora with you guys. Look at who is finally updating her blog after such a long time! How are you all doing? I’m not gonna lie when I say that these past few weeks have been incredibly busy for me now that school has finally started. It seems like for most of us, the back to school season is finally upon us and in full swing. And as depressing as it is being bombarded with assignments so soon after the summer, there’s nothing quite as satisfying as beginning a new year by stocking up on some new stationery to freshen up your workspace. The new school year for me has always been about new beginnings which is why I love to begin it surrounded by as much colour as possible.

By now, most of you are probably familiair with my long-standing obsession over all things Rilakkuma-related so when I saw that Q-Box were offereing a back-to-school kit full of adorable Rilakkuma goodies, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.

Accessorize Haul

It’s time for another haul!

In the early days of my budding personal style, accessories were something that I always completely overlooked. Style used to be exclusively about the clothes for me and to be honest, it’s only recently that I have begun to appreciate the serious difference that some decent jewellery can make to your entire look and to your attitude. Be it the bad-girl vibe that goes hand in hand with boasting your favourite velvet choker to the world, or the stark levels of unrivalled drama a pair of oversized statement earrings can add to your makeup look, the transformative power of accessories is just amazing. Not only is jewellery a serious game-changer for upping the anti on your day-to-day fashion exploits, it’s also a miracle worker for making an otherwise plain outfit look like something completely different and new.

But when it comes to accessorising, the quickest and easiest way to go about it is always to turn towards your trusty handbag. No matter how tired, lazy and soooo not bothered you may be feeling on a particular day, your neat little handbag friend will never let you down when it comes to making you look presentable while all at the same time keeping you well equipped with it’s necessary contents needed to tackle all of the day’s obstacles.
