BEAUTY REVIEW: Spring Skincare with Fresh

How I’m Keeping My Skin Clear This Spring

yey.png

Hello everybody and welcome back to another beauty post here on LaDameWhoFellToEarth. Lately my skincare obsession has been stronger than ever, especially with summer just around the corner.

I’ve mentioned it a thousand times already here on our blog but ever since I left Ireland and moved to France I’ve been focusing so much more of my attention on taking care of my skin than I have been on my makeup. Beauty in France is all about the epidermis and so many of the girls here get away with leaving the house completely foundation-free on a daily basis because of how well they look after their skin.

The way I’ve always seen beauty is that when it comes to makeup and skincare, it’s so important to see the face as the canvas while the actual makeup that you use is like the paint with which you create your work of art. If the canvas is damaged, your job as an artist is going to be much more difficult and demanding. This is exactly why it’s so important to keep the quality of your base in tact.

In a recent post I mentioned that I love the products by the brand Fresh and the way that they leave my face feeling so hydrated and nourished. In today’s post I’m going to be talking about their rose infused products and how I’ve been using them to clear up my complexion.

Hey everyone! It’s been a while since we last saw each other on here because I’ve been so preoccupied with YouTube lately but today I am back on the blog with a little perfume related post for you all. Recently I’ve been doing so many shoots in Paris and have had very little time to update you. It’s crazy being a college student here and running my blog because I meet so many people in my daily life who are artists, models, designers and photographers and often we all end up acting on impulse as we stage some impromptu shoots around the city.

The fast pace of my life lately got me thinking about a lot of things, for instance who doesn’t love a moment of spontaneity and of sensuality? Life in Paris is all about acting in the moment as well as the fleeting moments in time that make life beautiful; the view from the Pont de Bir-Hakeim of the Eiffel Tower as the metro passes over the line 6, a café noisette, a designer dress in a shop window, the fresh flowers in the park, not to mention capturing the subtle scent of a perfume as you pass a parisienne in the street.

When I first came to Paris I was so mystified by the allure of the parisian girls because their charm struck me as something that had been carved out over centuries of experiencing the culture that thrives in this city. With Paris being the home to most of the top names in fashion and beauty in the world it only makes sense that the girls here would radiate a certain kind of attitude and what better way to accentuate your ferociousness than with a perfume?

How I’m Caring For My Skin

fresh3

2019 is really the year of my life where I try to improve my skincare regime. I’ve said it many times here on LaDameWhoFellToEarth but beauty in France really is epidermal. Nobody really bats an eye too much at your makeup because we all know that it’s what underneath that matters. I’ve always been a huge advocate of fashion and my wardrobe contains a plethora of fabrics from corduroy to cashmere but of all the precious fabrics that I love, my skin is the one that I’m going to wear for the rest of my days so it’s why I’m so enthusiastic to take the best care of it that I can. Now that I’m 22 and I’m getting older, I realise more and more the importance of taking care of it.

Lately, I’ve really been loving the brand Fresh, especially for my super sensitive skin. If you’re looking for something gentle for acne prone skin or you are quite prone to dryness then I would highly recommend giving them a go. The cleanser has helped so much with my problem skin all throughout the month and I can’t express how much I’ve been loving it! In this post I’m going to be reviewing both the Fresh Soy Cleanser and Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream. Both of these products have become an essential part of my beauty regime since the year began and I honestly love the difference in the softness of my skin that they have made. I just had to share them for that!

HUDA BEAUTY DESERT DUSK PALETTE

A Makeup Look and Review

IMG_4309.JPG

2019 is a year that is all about trying new things in the beauty realm. If you have been a long-term follower of LaDameWhoFellToEarth then you’d know that I have always had a real thing for fashion and experimenting with different outfits but my makeup looks have always remained more or less the same.

I’m very lucky to live close enough to a Sephora that I can pop into on my way home from work and uni whenever I fancy and each time I go in, the one palette that always catches my eye is the Desert Dusk Palette by Huda Beauty. There’s just something about it that really rubbed me the right way, from the unique idea of recreating the enchantment of a desert sunset onto the eyes to the warmth that each colour radiated. I know I’m a little late to the party on getting onboard with the hype over this palette but today I thought you guys would appreciate the look I came up with as well as my thoughts on the makeup. Let’s get into it then shall we?

Sephora Essentials: Back to School Beauty

My Current Must-Haves

me

Hey everyone! I’m finally back in Paris after my trip to Portugal and back to the grind again. Now that summer is drawing to a close I can’t help but wish these long days of freedom could just last forever. I’ve been having a hard time accepting that the back to school season has already started up for so many of you and next week it will finally be my turn to take up my studies again too. That being said though, I’ve been having a lot of fun doing some last minute back to school shopping, especially where beauty is concerned. Today I thought I’d share my top beauty picks from Sephora with you guys. While most of them fall into the category of Korean skincare (surprise, surprise) I did throw a few makeup favourites in there too! Let’s start.

La Frutta

Marzia x Winky Lux

Last Summer when Marzia announced her new eyeshadow palette in collaboration with Winky Lux it was an actual dream come true for me. The Natura Palette had every colour I love to wear and really made for one of the most beautiful looks of any makeup I own. The colour scheme was just so alluring and unusual, not to mention the makeup was just such high quality that the palette quickly became an essential part of my everyday makeup routine.

This year when the La Frutta Palette was announced, I just couldn’t wait to give it a try. Winky Lux is a beauty brand that I really love, if not one of my favourite places to go to get new makeup. They have amazing ethics as they are cruelty free and their eyeshadows are always super long lasting with pigments that are always just so shimmery and vibrant.

My Ultimate Korean Skincare Regime

For Younger, Plumper, Healthier Skin

korea12.jpg

As the largest organ in the body and the window to all that is happening to our health on the inside, it’s no wonder why beauty has always been so strongly linked to healthy skin.

When I first entered the world of Korean beauty, it was really a breath of fresh air for my skin. These beauty brands really spoil us for choice and there’s so many high tech treatments and masks available that you just don’t see in the Western World.

While it did take me some time to get used to Korean beauty products and the way each product should be used in your regime, I feel like I have finally unlocked the perfect skincare routine to counter the effects of my busy life here in Paris. Here are some of my favourite products that I’ve used to date.

I know I’m a little late to the party on this one but I still thought I’d hop on the bandwagon and make a post featuring my favourite beauty products of 2017. Moving country gave me the opportunity to try out so many new things that have since become an integral part of my daily regime.

Funnily enough, most of the products I loved the most this year are actually makeup related as opposed to skincare which is a new one for me. Are you ready to see what they are? Let’s start!
