It was hard for me to make the change to wearing mom jeans and to be ok with it, I’m not going to lie. I’m only 5’2 so daring to wear something that carries the risk of making my legs look smaller and stumpier than they actually are was no easy task but recently when I was in River Island I found the most perfect pair of mom jeans I have ever tried in all my days. So needless to say, I have been converted.
Autumn is finally here which means that it’s time to bring out the shades in your wardrobe that match with the harmony of the falling leaves on the trees. Autumn has always been my favourite season for two reasons; the first being that the colours are just so warm, so ethereal and the world is practically dyed a different shade of beautiful by the faint sun that shines through the trees as well as the multi-coloured leaves that fall from them. The second reason is because it’s just so delightfully cozy and that’s exactly why I’m coming to you for today’s post from the comfort of a Parisian cafe corner.

When I was back in Ireland during the holidays last month it was pretty much a rite of passage for me to go to Boots and to see what they had. Since it doesn’t exist in France and we don’t always find the same products here, I always have so much fun browsing the rails for makeup and beauty bargains so today I’m super exited to share what I got with you!

As we get deeper and deeper into the summer, the streets of Paris become emptier and emptier especially when there is a heatwave stifling the whole city. After two years living in Paris, I’m no stranger to the city’s transformation into a ghost town during the summer months and so last week I decided to join in on bandwagon of the Parisian exodus and retreat down to the countryside for a breath of french air.
Because I was mainly enjoying my time away from the hustle and bustle and daily struggle of defending myself in Paris (fellow foreign strugglers where you at?) I didn’t take that many photos of the landscapes that surrounded me nor of many of my experiences. (It was the holiday mentality all week but sure you know yourself.)
I did however snap quite a lot of outfit photos and put together a lookbook which is exactly what this post is about.
When I was shooting the outfits for this blogpost I unintentionally managed to wear the exact same pair of jeans in all three of my outfits…but can you really blame me? Light wash jeans are just so versatile for summer so for today’s post I’m going to show you three different looks I’ve been loving for this late summer weather.
With red hot temperatures on the rise this summer we all need the perfect sweat-proof outfit that’s going to be perfect for chilling out and cooling down.
Being an autumn baby who lived almost my whole life in Ireland, coming up with summer outfits that are both comfortable and cool can be an impossible task at times, especially because I’m not used to having to go about my everyday life while sweltering under the extreme heat. It’s only really now after two years living in France that I’m getting used to dressing comfortably under the blazing hot sun so for today’s post I came up with three summer outfits that are perfect for staying stylish no matter how high the thermometer may be.
A Little Update After My Last Post
Not the best quality photo I know but I figured that I would come on here and let you guys know how I’m doing after my last blogpost where I was feeling mentally exhausted and just drained from my bad experiences in Paris.
Summer is here which means that the time for champagne and celebrations during warm nights has arrived. For today’s post I teamed up with PrettyLittleThing to show you some amazing occasion wear that is perfect for weddings, classy soirées and also graduations. Their graduation store has so many beautiful dresses to choose from and I couldn’t be more thrilled to show you guys a few of my favourites.
Graduation is unfortunately not celebrated in France and it’s something that now, living away from Ireland I’m pretty sad to be missing out on. The way it works here is that you get your degree in the mail and that’s that. There’s no big celebration where we wear the robe, the hats and do the photographs while holding the degree but that doesn’t mean that we should skip out on the chance to dress up every now and again!
What is it that makes Montmartre so charming?
Though it may have a rather sordid past, the architectural beauty of Paris’ former red light district is undeniable.
Pigalle is an area in Paris where pretty much anything goes. Located right in the middle of the hill at Montmartre, this quartier was once the playground of artists and musicians alike all throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries. Some of the biggest names in western art and culture such as Picasso, Renoir, Ernest Hemingway and Van Gogh frequented the many local cafés there including La Nouvelle Athènes and the world renowned Le Chat Noir. It was the district where Rimbaud frequented with his lover Paul Verlaine, where Edith Paif sang and of course where brothels and cabarets were commonplace.
Out of all the culture that exists across the area of Pigalle, The Moulin Rouge is the most show-stopping monument of all. With it being the birthplace of cabaret and the epicentre of burlesque, I just had to stop by last time I was strolling around Montmartre.
Hello everybody and welcome back to another beauty post here on LaDameWhoFellToEarth. Lately my skincare obsession has been stronger than ever, especially with summer just around the corner.
I’ve mentioned it a thousand times already here on our blog but ever since I left Ireland and moved to France I’ve been focusing so much more of my attention on taking care of my skin than I have been on my makeup. Beauty in France is all about the epidermis and so many of the girls here get away with leaving the house completely foundation-free on a daily basis because of how well they look after their skin.
The way I’ve always seen beauty is that when it comes to makeup and skincare, it’s so important to see the face as the canvas while the actual makeup that you use is like the paint with which you create your work of art. If the canvas is damaged, your job as an artist is going to be much more difficult and demanding. This is exactly why it’s so important to keep the quality of your base in tact.
In a recent post I mentioned that I love the products by the brand Fresh and the way that they leave my face feeling so hydrated and nourished. In today’s post I’m going to be talking about their rose infused products and how I’ve been using them to clear up my complexion.
