How I’m Keeping My Skin Clear This Spring
Hello everybody and welcome back to another beauty post here on LaDameWhoFellToEarth. Lately my skincare obsession has been stronger than ever, especially with summer just around the corner.
I’ve mentioned it a thousand times already here on our blog but ever since I left Ireland and moved to France I’ve been focusing so much more of my attention on taking care of my skin than I have been on my makeup. Beauty in France is all about the epidermis and so many of the girls here get away with leaving the house completely foundation-free on a daily basis because of how well they look after their skin.
The way I’ve always seen beauty is that when it comes to makeup and skincare, it’s so important to see the face as the canvas while the actual makeup that you use is like the paint with which you create your work of art. If the canvas is damaged, your job as an artist is going to be much more difficult and demanding. This is exactly why it’s so important to keep the quality of your base in tact.
In a recent post I mentioned that I love the products by the brand Fresh and the way that they leave my face feeling so hydrated and nourished. In today’s post I’m going to be talking about their rose infused products and how I’ve been using them to clear up my complexion.
I already talked about the powerful effects of this moisturiser in my most recent skincare post. (You guys can check it out here.) Ever since I used it for the first time, I’ve been in love with it. It’s an amazing cream for dry skin because it releases hydration over a period of 24 hours and has a serious plumping effect. Because I come from Ireland and the genetic lottery graced me with super sensitive skin that is prone to redness I’m always in need of a cream that comes well equipped with a powerful cooling effect that’s going to even out my skin tone. I find that this cream helps a tonne when it comes to giving my skin a more porcelain look and it also helps to regulate any dryness and flakiness I may have too.
Honestly the cooling effect on the skin is really what won this product over for me. It leaves your face feeling oh so lovely and silky smooth so you know that you can rest assured that it’s doing you the world of good even after the first application. It’s crazy how my skin just eats it up!
For somebody who suffers from extremely dry, sensitive and acne prone skin, this toner is a real life changer for me. Not only does the rose extract in it smell absolutely divine but it also is highly effective in softening the skin as well as the appearance of pores which in turn, results in a healthy looking complexion.
If you look closely at the bottle, you’ll see that it’s infused with real rose petals so you know that it retains all of the natural healing properties that mother nature gave it.
The overall formula is simple and lightweight which means that it gently whisks away dirt, oil and makeup as well as other impurities that would otherwise damage the skin. Between the fact that the toner is so pure as well as it basically being a honey-toned elixir in a bottle, it’s a real keeper if there ever was one.
A rose-infused mask that seems intimidating at first because of it’s medicinal scent and dark brown colour but this is a mask to take seriously. The real rose petals inside literally melt into the skin, leaving you with a soft, smooth finish.
I’ve been using this mask for a couple of weeks now and it’s amazing how quickly it is absorbed into the skin. To be honest it’s not a mask that leaves much of a feeling after washing it off because it is very gentle but for helping calm redness and remove acne scars it has worked a dream.
I have this lip balm in two shades. One is completely sheer and clear but honestly I love the subdued pink hue that the tinted one gives.
Sugar is the active ingredient in this lipbalm which is an active humectant, meaning that it helps to preserve moisture in the upper levels of the skin so it’s perfect for keeping your lips hydrated as well as tasting super sweet. *wink*
I’m not going to lie when I say that I’m not the best person for remembering to apply SPF to my lips so it’s a mega bonus that this one contains factor 15 as well as other moisturising ingredients. The repairing oils that come from seeds and blackcurrants work wonders for dry and peeling lips.
So these were all the products I’ve added to my current spring skincare regime. I really hope you guys enjoyed the post! If you did, let me know in the comments below your favourite products to use in the spring! Id love to hear all about it.
That’s all from me for now. Thank you all so much for reading and I’ll see you very soon in our next post!
