How I’m Caring For My Skin
2019 is really the year of my life where I try to improve my skincare regime. I’ve said it many times here on LaDameWhoFellToEarth but beauty in France really is epidermal. Nobody really bats an eye too much at your makeup because we all know that it’s what underneath that matters. I’ve always been a huge advocate of fashion and my wardrobe contains a plethora of fabrics from corduroy to cashmere but of all the precious fabrics that I love, my skin is the one that I’m going to wear for the rest of my days so it’s why I’m so enthusiastic to take the best care of it that I can. Now that I’m 22 and I’m getting older, I realise more and more the importance of taking care of it.
Lately, I’ve really been loving the brand Fresh, especially for my super sensitive skin. If you’re looking for something gentle for acne prone skin or you are quite prone to dryness then I would highly recommend giving them a go. The cleanser has helped so much with my problem skin all throughout the month and I can’t express how much I’ve been loving it! In this post I’m going to be reviewing both the Fresh Soy Cleanser and Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream. Both of these products have become an essential part of my beauty regime since the year began and I honestly love the difference in the softness of my skin that they have made. I just had to share them for that!
Let’s start off with the cleanser. The first thing that I noticed about it was the fact that unlike most cleansers I’ve used in the past, it didn’t dry out my skin nor give me that tight, rigid feeling in my pores that a lot of other cleansers I’ve used in the past have done. Instead it was actually really moisture-rich which earned immediate points in my book.
The formula is very light and it melts away makeup very gently and efficiently. It’s crazy how one splash of this just dissolves virtually all of my leftover maquillage from the day. It even is very gentle on the eyes so is great at putting a dent into stubborn mascara.
The ingredients of this cleanser are comprised of a lot of elements that work together to nourish the skin, the most notable of which being the soy proteins and amino acids which boost the elasticity of the tissue. Honestly the fact that it contains soy is perfect for my ruddy Irish cheeks because it helps to neutralise any discolouration and redness all while helping to even out my skin tone. It also contains aloe vera which again renders the soothing properties of this cleanser all the more effective.
I really can’t lie when I say that I’m such a sucker for anything that contains rose and I am seriously all smitten over the slight rosy hint that this cleanser emits from the natural rose water used as an active ingredient inside. Because the current of my love for rose water runs so deep (see what I did there? Ba dum tsss) I just had to pair it with a day cream that was going to have a similar fragrance because who doesn’t love the smell roses all year round?
The great thing about roses however is that not only do they smell amazing, they also make for some pretty powerful skincare products with many anti-aging and healing properties. This deep hydration cream has done a world of good for skin especially now that the weather is so cold.
What’s pretty impressive about this lightweight cream is that it releases doses of hydration over a period of 24 hours, making it ideal for skin that is prone to dryness. The hyaluronic acid allows for a deep level of moisture while the rose water soothes and nourishes the skin all while calming redness.
Because the base of the moisturiser has a gel consistency, you can really feel its cooling and plumping effect. I love everything about this cream because I can really feel the effect that it has made on my skin and I am obsessed with the softness as well as the glowy look it gives to my face.
If you guys are looking to try some new skincare products then I’d definitely recommend checking out Fresh. I’ve been loving them since I discovered them from a lot of my favourite bloggers and I honestly just had to share them with you.
This post isn’t sponsored or anything. I just discovered this brand recently and fell in love with how gentle, yet effective the products are. Have you ever tried anything by Fresh? I’d love to hear all about it in the comments below. I found these in my local Sephora but I’ve linked the Fresh website all throughout the post.
That’s all from me for now. Thank you guys so much for reading and I’ll see you very soon.
