A Lemon-Themed Outfit of The Day
Hello my lovelies! I hope that you are all feeling beautiful and that the start of the summer has been treating you well. For today’s post I wanted to share an outfit with you that I have been obsessing over lately and one that has been my go-to particularly on breezier days.
The warm weather is just arriving in Paris along with the floods of tourists. It’s incredible when you live here and you see just how much the vibe of the city changes between the winter and the spring. What were once quiet and almost deserted snowy streets are now illuminated with sunshine and crowded by people from all over the world. It’s insane!
I love living here and I literally could not be feeling more grateful about my life right now. Especially now that the summer is here. Today I got to hang out in the Jardin du Luxembourg, one of the most picturesque parks in the city and definitely one of the most beautiful in Europe. The great thing about Paris is that even in spite of the crowds, you rarely feel claustrophobic because the city is full of wide open spaces and enormous parks like these where there is a photo opportunity at every corner.
When a new season comes, new trends always follow and for the summer of 2018 I have really been a fan of the fruit trend and particularly the lemon trend. That’s right. Lemons. There’s just something about this pale yellow shade that is so flattering and cheery, especially when worn under the sun.
Since the summer began it seems as though the motif of adding fruit, and not florals for a change has been popping up everywhere. Everything I have been seeing in the shops lately has been lemon-yellow and printed with all different kinds of fruity finishes. It just makes styling your summer outfits all that little bit more colourful and exciting.
One of my greatest finds of the year so far has been this beautiful lemon yellow striped coat from my favourite Italian fashion designer, Vivetta. I have been such a huge fangirl of this brand for quite a while now because everything by this brand is just so creative and magical, its like the clothes come from a fantasy world. However because her designs are quite high-end, (Kim Kardashian was photographed in one of her dresses only a few weeks ago) I never had much of a hope of buying one of her designs at full price until I saw this one available secondhand.
Can you believe I managed to thrift this coat on depop though? I was so stunned when I saw that it was for sale at such a cheap price compared to the usual cost of Vivetta that I just had to snatch it right away. I love everything about the pattern, the fit and of course its bright pastel colours which make it the perfect piece for cooler summer days.
It really completes the outfit and adds such a unique finish to the look. This coat is definitely one of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe, if not my absolute favourite as its from a designer I am utterly in love with and the fact that I was just so lucky to be able to find it makes me feel even more appreciative that I can call it mine.
Underneath I’m wearing this lemon-printed body that I found at Forever21 earlier this month. (similar) I feel like opting for a fruity pattern is the perfect way to add a slice of summer to your look without feeling like you’re going to crazy with colours and print.
And that’s it for today’s outfit. Sorry I have been a bit absent from social media lately. Finals were really weighing down on me and I had to pass some mega difficult exams to be able to transfer to a university in France. But the good news is that I’ll be staying in Paris from now on and finishing my studies here, which means of course that there will be so many more blogposts and vlogs about my life here. I can’t wait to share this new period of my life with you guys and to take you along with me on my journey now that I can happily call my favourite city in the world my new home.
I hope you all have a lovely week and I’ll see you very soon in my next post.

Totally! Yes, Marzia and Emma Blackery have had me head-over-heels for the lemon look these past years (:

Ah I had no idea Emma Blackery was into it too? They seem to have their eye on the trend forecasts because I’ve seen similar things in forever 21 and H&M this year!
