24 Hours in London

A Short and Sweet Stay in the UK

Hello everyone! Amanda here. I hope you’ve all had a good week so far and that you’ve had a relaxing start to the weekend.

Our blog seems to be full of travel lately which is just insane! I thought my trip to the South of France would be the last time I would leave Paris until Christmas but it looks like the call of London was just to much for me and I just had to pay a visit to this amazing city.

It’s so funny, having lived in both Paris and Dublin I see London largely as a half way point between my two homes. It’s actually quite funny that the city has a lot of similarities to both Paris and Dublin and I only really noticed it this week when I was there!

Unfortunately I didn’t get to explore much of the city because I was only there for less than a day to visit friends but I did get to visit Westminster Abbey and see The London Eye which were both really impressive. I love how the gothic architecture looked contrasted against the grey winter sky. The city has such a dark, yet beautiful atmosphere in the December weather.

It’s so crazy that I’ve been to London so many times now and none of which have I had the opportunity to be able to see Big Ben, and now that it’s under construction until 2021, I guess I’m just going to have to try my look again in four years when it’s open to the public again. But even with all the scaffolding the iconic clock tower was still a charming site and if you look closely at the photo you can kind of make out its face at the top of the tower.

The real reason I went to London was actually to catch up with my friends from Ireland and also to go to the Gorillaz concert together. The experience was unreal and the visuals were just so amazing. It was incredible.

Although travelling always tires me out, it’s always amazing having the opportunity to take photos in new and exciting places and to make such incredible memories with my friends. I always feel so grateful any time I get to go in a trip, even if it is just for a short time.

Have you guys ever been to London? What do you think of it?

That’s all from me for now. Thank you guys so much for reading and I’ll see you very soon in my next post!
