Styling a Sheer Dress (and Supporting Irish Design)

One of my Favourite Looks Right Now

Hello everyone! Welcome to yet another summery outfit post here on our blog. I really hope that you are enjoying the summer break so far and that the weather has been nice to you wherever you may be. Right now in Dublin it’s quite hot but overcast as always, so I’ve found myself embracing some darker styles lately. And one of my absolute favourite pieces to work my outfits around at the moment is this beautiful mesh dress that I picked up in Om Diva Boutique a short while ago.

The designer, (Jennifer Byrne, check her out here!) has such magical pieces in each of her collections. A lot of the clothing really resembles the type of outfit you would see in a fantasy film or a fairytale so I’m really proud to be able to sport an outfit that has such a whimsical vibe to it!

I guess what I really love about a transparent dress is the way in which it has the power to completely transform an outfit from something plain (and sometimes kinda boring) to something a lot more fun, elegant and exciting.

For this look I simply styled this transparent beauty over a basic t-shirt and jeans. I really think that it adds such a unique and eccentric twist to this casual look. The tutu-effect of the skirt is just so much fun and it’s amazing how the shiny pattern seems to sparkle in the sunlight.

For me, the best thing about this dress is the fact that there are so many ways it can be worn. The button-up design means that it can be worn open or closed and even to the front or the back depending on your preference. And of course it looks amazing over slip dress or layered over a bralette if you’re feeling daring enough.

On warmer days a dress like this can be really handy for adding something a little extra to your look without having to compromise on comfort because the material is so light and breathable. And for a more sophisticated evening look, I can think of nothing better to wear!

So that’s all from me for now. Thank you guys so much for reading. As usual, outfit details are listed above! I hope you all have a nice day and I’ll see you very soon in my next post!
