It’s Time for a Monthly Favourites post!
Hey! It’s Mew and welcome back to another monthly favourites post here on our blog!
It’s hard to believe that Spring is already drawing to an end and summer is finally just around the corner. This year of starting my blog has flown by in a flash but I’m glad that these posts at least give us the time to reflect on all the best things that each month brought. Are you ready to see this month’s favourite things with me? Let’s start!
The first thing I wanted to show you is something you’ve probably seen already in my most recent Instagram posts and upcoming vlogs. I scored this adorable denim-look pinafore dress from the brand fairyland on yesstyle.com and I have been utterly in love ever since. This dress is just so cute, sweet-looking and comfortable. It’s perfect for the brighter spring and summer days to come. I’m obsessed!
The next fashion favourite of the month was a massive splurge for me, but one I couldn’t be happier with. If you’ve been following my blog for a while now you’d know that Siopaella is a consignment shop in Dublin I really love. They’re basically a designer exchange store where people buy and sell their old designer clothes and handbags.
When I saw they had another Takashi Murakami/Louis Vuitton bag on their website, I just knew it was going to be now or never to grab it. I love how this bag contrasts luxury fashion with Japanese kawaii fashion in its design. Because of that, this bag is just so special to me and it’s a piece I’ll have for years and years.
You always see bloggers and vloggers raving about Lazy Oaf these days and it’s easy to see why. Their clothing is just so quirky and cool. Recently I acquired this gorgeous little sheer top from them and I have been wearing it non-stop with all my outfits. It looks really cool when worn under overalls or underneath a t-shirt with the sleeves peaking out. And the best thing about it? Just look at those cute little felt clouds scattered all over it. So adorable.
Now onto beauty favourites.
The first thing that I have been loving is the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation. I bought this not expecting it to be anywhere near as good as it was. The application is very smooth, light and natural, yet it blends with the skin so evenly, giving the perfect amount of coverage. Seriously, if you’re on the hunt for a new foundation, I would definitely recommend this one. It’s a makeup game changer.
The next product I have been loving lately is also from Charlotte Tilbury. If you’re into eye-enlarging makeup this one is definitely for you. This eyeliner is used to enlarge the eyes by creating the illusion of wider, rounder eyes when drawn onto the waterline. Personally, I love the sweet, youthful and innocent vibe this give your makeup and for a natural , summery makeup look I can think of nothing better!
Of course something from my latest Korean Beauty Haul had to have a place in this month’s favourites post and what I have really been loving lately is the Etude House Moistfull Collagen Sleeping Pack. Allowing this to soak into your skin overnight literally leaves your skin feeling so refreshed, as if it has just absorbed litres and litres of water. Seriously, dull and dry skin just looks so much healthier in the morning when you wake up after using this.
Now onto entertainment favourites! The part that you’ve all been waiting for!
Has anybody else been as obsessed with Girl Boss as much as I have been over the past month? I mean the series is just so hilarious, relatable and inspiring all at the same time.
And the book is even better. It’s so interesting hearing first-hand about how the author built Nasty Gal, one of the most famous clothing companies in the world with a camera, some vintage clothes and an eBay store in her bedroom.
If there’s a book to make you feel motivated to go out there and do something with your life, this has got to be the one. Not only does it contain some killer life advice, it also has some pretty useful tips on how to survive and thrive in the working world, whatever your profession may be. It’s a book everyone should read to feel like they can make their dreams a success I think.
If you haven’t already guessed, I am completely and utterly enamoured by Japanese fashion and Tokyo fashion in particular. When I saw this book on all the trendiest districts and different fashion cultures in Tokyo, I couldn’t wait take it home with me and read it. Each page is more colourful than the last and reading it just makes me want to visit Japan more than anything!
So these were my favourites from April. What were your favourites things this month? I’d love to hear all about it in the comments below!
That’s all from me for now. Thank you guys so much for reading and I’ll see you very soon in my next post.
BE HAPPY ♥ BE HAPPY
