January Favourites

Fashion and Entertainment Favourites of the Month.

Hey! It’s Mew. And it’s time once again for my monthly favourites.

Because of the wet and windy weather, I have been spending a lot of time indoors lately and just enjoying feeling extra warm and cosy with my chai lattes and my blankets, so a lot of this month’s favourites are going to be centred around comfort and cosiness. Are you ready? Let’s start!

One of my favourite things in the way of fashion this month is this Gudetama sweatshirt from Forever 21! I have always loved Sanrio and cute little anime-like characters on clothing, so of course when I saw this on the website, I couldn’t wait for it to be mine. I love how effortlessly stylish sweatshirts like these can look when paired with an edgy mini-skirt or pair of boots. I always think it makes for such a cool yet casual look and it’s such a simple outfit to put together.

This is actually from a haul that I have coming up for you soon, so stay tuned for that!

This next fashion favourite is of course my oversized crewneck from inuinu.com ❤ I already showed you this in my most recent outfit of the day post but it’s just so soft and so snuggly that it just had to have a place in my favourites! The graphic on it is adorable and the material is really thick and really warm which makes it perfect for lazy days at home!

The next thing I have been loving this month is a book and it’s called IT by Alexa Chung. If you’re in any way interested in fashion or just about anything quirky and creative then I would definitely recommend you read this. Inside are loads of cute little anecdotes from her life as a model, polaroids, drawings as well as sources of inspiration that helped her form her own personal style. Reading this is really enjoyable and really refreshing, especially if you’re thinking about a career in anything related to art, film or fashion.

In the way of entertainment, I actually have so many favourites to share with you! January turned me into such a couch potato so I ended up watching so many TV shows, movies and dramas.

The first of which was the new season of Terrace House; Aloha State. This time the Netflix series is set in Hawaii and just getting the chance to look at the beautiful scenery around Honolulu as you watch the show is just pure bliss! In case you’re unfamiliar with Terrace House, it’s a Japanese reality TV show where six strangers move into a house to live together. Throughout the course of the show, so much drama and new relationships begin to bud. I’m always so jealous of the people on this show. They always go on such fun dates and adventures!

This month I also went to go see La La Land in the cinema. It really is such a sweet and charming film and with Valentine’s Day on its way it makes for the perfect date movie!

January also introduced me to a new J-Drama that I have been so obsessed with. It’s on Netflix and it’s called Mischievous Kiss (Itazura na Kiss.) This is one of the few dramas that I have actually become emotionally invested in. It’s just so cute, so hilarious, romantic and heartwarming. I don’t want to give too much away about the plot so all I’ll say is that you should prepare yourself for love triangles, unrequited love with the hottest guy in school as well as super sentimental and soppy scenes of romance, not to mention dream dates in Tokyo! This is definitely my favourite drama at the moment and it gets even better in the second season! ❤

So these were all of my favourite things this month. Let me know in the comments what your favourite things are! Thank you so much for reading and I can’t wait to see you again very soon in our next post!

You’re welcome! ❤️ Ah I’ve really been loving forever 21 lately and especially now because of gudetama hehe :’) and I completely get what you mean about La La Land. My favourite thing about it is the visuals. I think there are so many stunning scenes in it but musicals can be so hit or miss for me sometimes. I liked some songs though.. And Ryan Gosling! :3
