Shuppa-Ella
An Aladdin’s Cave of designer handbags in yet another vintage shop that I have been loving.
Like many avid admirers and purveyors, hunters and gatherers of fashion alike who have had the pleasure of shopping on Dublin’s cobbled streets, Siopaella has a very special place in my heart. Having bought my first ever designer bag there, I couldn’t wait to tell you all about it and share some photos here on our blog!
Not only is this place the perfect treasure-trove shop for any Louis Vuitton, Gucci or Chanel fanatic out there, it’s also the most perfect store for falling utterly in love with the extensive rails decked out in fabulous designer and vintage finds, and of course for hunting down some really rare gems from by-gone collections.
And that’s exactly how I managed to find the bag of my dreams sitting daintily on one of Siopaella’s beautifully abundant shelves, all of which were full to the brim with designer bags brought in by people who wanted to exchange them for something new to add to their collections, if not to be authenticated and exchanged for cash.
I have to say, the entire shopping experience is made to be so much fun by the smiling faces and friendly banter of the staff there. Being a shy person, I always find department stores to be a little intimidating but here you can try on as many bags as you want and even take them into the store’s adorable fitting room with you!
This was the first time I ever tried on a Chanel handbag in a shop. Look at how cute it is! They really do feel as luxurious as they look.
Next, I tried on some other bags that I’ve been dreaming of for a long time, but the one I’m most happy with is of course my very own one, which is this adorable Japan-inspired Louis Vuitton pochette.
If designer bags aren’t your thing however, each to the stores scattered between Temple Bar and Wicklow Street has an amazing selection of jewellery, designer wallets and even a wide variety of vintage clothes from high-end brands to more unusual pieces at high street prices.
I found this fabulously fuchsia Marc Jacobs coat which I’m just in love with!
Siopaella is a really cool place to visit if you’re hunting down old collections that aren’t available in the department stores anymore or if you simply have an old handbag you don’t get any wear out of anymore. Honestly, browsing the shelves is a lot of fun and it’s a really heartwarming experience when you finally find the perfect handbag at a fraction of the original price.
So this was my experience in Siopaella. Personally it is one of my favourite stores in town to drop into because you never know what special things you might find. I found the bag of my dreams there, perhaps you might be able to find yours? In Dublin you can find them on Cecilia Street, Wicklow Street, Crow Street and Temple Lane, otherwise you can check out their website here.
(By the way, this isn’t a sponsored post. I just wanted to share with you how much I love the store.)
That’s all from me for now. Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you very soon in my next post!
