A Sparkly and Festive Outfit and Makeup Look
Today while I was getting ready for a romantic Christmas dinner date, I decided to come up with a new makeup look to share with you guys. By mixing the products in my everyday routine with Too Faced’s Christmas in New York eyeshadow palette, I managed to come up with a really festive makeup look and outfit that I think you’ll love.
Here are the products I’ve used! (I also linked them as I talk about them.) Are you ready? Let’s start!
Begin by applying your base. During winter my skin is often dry, agitated and in need of some TLC so I like to skip foundation and apply a CC cream instead to lock in as much extra moisture as possible. This one by La Roche Posay is amazing for adding plenty of coverage and hiding imperfections. It’s also ideal for reducing redness caused by the cold winter air.
For highlight, I apply Lush Fairy Dust to my cheekbones, bridge of my nose and neck to add a subtle bit of shimmer and sparkle to my skin. I love this because it smells amazing (like sherbet and bubblegum) and it also creates such a subtle glitter effect which just looks so magical under twinkling Christmas lights. ^_^
Next, I used Soap and Glory’s Brow Archery Kit to highlight my brow bone and fill in my eyebrows. along with Benefit’s lemonaid to prime my eyes and make the eyeshadow look as vibrant as possible.
Now it’s time to use the Grand Hotel Café Palette!
First I dusted the Ginger Cream Eyeshadow all over my lids and right up to my brow bone. Using Ginger Snap as the base for my lids, I dusted and blended it as far my crease and lower lash line.
The third eyeshadow I used was the Eggnog Latte which I applied over the centre of my eyelid before bringing it to the inner corner of my eye. After this step, the look was already so shimmery, glimmery and golden, but I wanted to take it up a notch!
With the dark brown Iced Coffee shade, I added some depth and a little sultriness to the overall look by blending it along the outer corner of my eyes and along the very outside of my lower lash line. (where I had previously applied the Ginger Snap shade.) The two shades really compliment each other a lot!
Finally I used my Lush liquid liner in gold to create a thick, shimmering cat eye before tracing a thin line with my favourite black eyeliner from Benefit to add a little something extra to the look. Add a little bit of red lipstick and some mascara et voila! Your makeup is complete!
Now onto the outfit!
This has got to be the prettiest, poofiest and most elegant dress I own. The tulle at the bottom falls so beautifully and I just love the elaborate embroidery all over it. It even goes super well with my embroidered floral zara coat!
Plus I really love the embellished bag and silver leaf ring. Both are just so sparkly and the ring compliments the floral theme of the outfit pretty nicely!
My entire outfit, (apart from the coat) is from Om Diva. If you’re familiar with my fashion posts then you’d probably know by now how much I love their boutique. If you’re from Dublin you can check out their pink shop on Drury Street or alternatively you can check out their insta account here. or my post on their vintage basement here.
So that was my complete Christmas look. I can’t wait to take this dress out again and wear it to dinner on Christmas Day!
That’s all from me for now, but I’ll see you very soon in my next post.
