Some outfits for the cold weather
The autumn/winter season has always been my favourite time of year for shopping and experimenting with new trends. In fact, the very idea of having the opportunity to wrap up all warm and cosy excites me so much. So today I thought I would share with you some of the looks I have really been enjoying lately. Let’s start!
Look One: Layered
This is an outfit I feel really comfy and snuggly in. There really isn’t anything quite like feeling warm and toasty under a pile of knitwear and heavy fabrics when the weather gets as cold as it does in Ireland. ^_^
My favourite thing about this outfit is just how seamlessly this fluffy gilet from Primark fits under this faux suede coat. It almost looks like the coat is all one piece and I really love how layering can create that illusion.
Of course I had to match this look with a pair of pink velvet boots. (similar) Boots like these are just so comfy and soft, they make the outfit even cosier than it already was to begin with.
There are so many cushiony materials in this outfit between the faux fur, faux suede and knit that I am wearing underneath, so it’s super warm and perfect for braving the cold weather.
Look Two: Classy Chic
I really love how much more adorable a ruffle detail can make an outfit seem. To me this look was so minimalistic and chic, yet cute and unique at the same time because of the extra little details on both the skirt and sweater. The ruffles gave the entire look a really youthful and doll-like vibe which I thought was a nice contrast to the relatively plain colour scheme. Plus, just look at these shoes! So cute.

Look Three: Forest Fairy
Now usually I am not one for bodycon at all. I just think that it’s really not my style and can often it can make me look so much shorter than I actually am in real life. But this metallic green dress from Topshop really made me change my mind because as soon as I saw it I just knew it was meant to be.
I love the idea of being clad in anything sparkly and shiny, especially during the darker winter months. I guess because I like being reminded of glimmering Christmas lights. Plus, a little glitter is always a great way of adding a some extra brightness and cheer to your look.
Because the weather is so cold, I had to layer this outfit with an oversized cardigan. This one is from my favourite vintage boutique in Dublin and has a very subtle sparkle all over it which I was really drawn to.
It’s really the contrast that I believe makes this outfit so flattering. The slim fit of the bodycon and the billowing cardigan are a perfect match for one another because they add so much more dimension and something more interesting when combined together.
Look Four: Shooting Star
Similar to the other Topshop dress I showed you, the pattern on this one is so beautiful and elaborate, I could stare at it all day long. This is a look I could imagine myself wearing to a classy dinner party or to a festive Christmas event.
I love intricate detailing in patterns like these and the twinkling stars are just so eye-catching.
To make this outfit even more party appropriate, I styled it with this lovely, chunky embellished belt from Om Diva, my favourite vintage store. I just think it catches the light beautifully and is the perfect accessory for jazzing up any outfit.
Look Five: Comfy, Cosy
And now for the final outfit in the lookbook.
I’ve been looking for a sweater like this for a while now and I was so happy when I finally was able to find this one. The pink patterning is so sweet and dreamy and the big, loose turtleneck was just too adorable for me to leave it on the rail.
Though this was a little bit of a splurge for me, that doesn’t bother me at all. The quality is just so amazing and gives off that soft and comfortable cashmere feeling. I love wearing a loose knit like this over pretty mini-skirts or in this case, a comfy pair of velvet leggings.
So these were all of the looks that I came up with for this week’s lookbook. As usual, links for everything are embedded in the text above. ^_^

I will see you very soon in my next blogpost. But until then…
