Hello everybody! I am Mew and welcome to the first ever makeup haul on this blog.(✿◠‿◠) Recently I had the chance to acquire a multitude of makeup palettes that were each bursting with blushing summery tones and bright, lively colours. Between rose gold eyeshadow kits and vibrant selections of shimmering highlights as well as sets of glittering pink blushes, I just had to take this opportunity to share these things with you.

Let’s begin!

1.) Sugarlicious by Benefit

The first thing on the list is the Sugarlicious Palette from Benefit. I picked this simply because I believed that it was the perfect palette for the summer as you can achieve a very sweet and natural look with it and the colours all coordinate really well.

When you open the kit, you’ll find a little bottle of Benetint (which is their renowned lip and cheek stain), high beam (a very bright and bold highlight), sugarbomb blush and lipgloss and of course a cute little blush brush.

IMG_8482The benetint is quite possibly the best addition to this kit. If you’ve never tried it out before then it definitely is worth giving a go because it really is such a handy and multifunctional extension to any makeup bag. The consistency at first is rather deceptive because it is very runny, like watercolour paint. But then, it expands and dries, leaving behind a dreamy hue that looks bright and cheerful. You can use this on your lips and on your cheeks which is good if you like your colours to be matching perfectly. IMG_8496

As for the High Beam, it is a really strong highlighter that catches the light very well. It has a very elegant shine too, so it works well for bringing out your best features.

The sugarlicious blush worked amazingly for me. However, I think you might be disappointed with it if you want the actual colour of the makeup to show up on your face. Though not great for colour, this translucent blush works wonders for adding a hint of glitter and sparkle to your makeup. (But you can always add some benetint afterwards if it’s a pigmented blush that you’re after.)

Finally, the sugarbomb lipgloss looks beautiful when applied to add a dewy finish to your look. (it also tastes really sweet and sugary so you’ll have to try your best not to eat it.) ❤

2.) World Famous Neutrals

A dreamy little eyeshadow kit and a flattering neutral palette for your eyes, especially when paired with the sugarlicious palette from above. This little set comes equipped with six ‘nude’ eyeshadow shades ranging from some really fantastic gold tones to beautiful brown and taupe shades.

It also comes with two gel/cream eyeshadows which create a great base for layering the powders over. Because these colours are so intense as well, they can be used to create a much deeper and more dramatic look if you ever want to go beyond the ‘natural’ look.

While there may only be six eyeshadows in this kit, there are so many possibilities of looks you can create between light and natural to some more smokey brown combinations. I also think that the packaging is another reason to adore this palette. What a beautiful addition to any makeup shelf 。◕ ‿ ◕。<3

3.) Urban Decay: Naked 3

What instantly drew my to this makeup in the beginning was the dreamy, pastel pink and romantic hues that this palette seems to beam. These eyeshadows are really amazing because the range of colours from light to dark offer so much diversity and tonnes of potential for some really creative looks.

I always think of Naked 3 as the perfect ‘first date’ eyeshadow palette. The lighter colours come across as sweet, innocent and endearing, making it ideal for any dreamy or romantic summertime evening. If you ask me, these colours are just ideal for recreating a blushing  sunset on your eyes. I adore this palette simply because you can get so creative with it. And the colours are just so enchanting and a dream to fall in love to. ❤

Alternatively you can use the lighter colours as your base and build up into something edgier and more sultry with the darker charcoal and amethyst shades if that’s more your style.

No matter what you choose to do with this palette, I can guarantee that your look will be transformed into something magical. I’m sure of it. ^_^

4.) Too Faced: Secret to No Makeup Makeup

Now on to Too Faced’s concealer palette. I found this to be the trustiest little face kit that I have ever had. You have all your basic highlighting, concealing and contouring essentials in one compact container and just about everything you may need throughout the day can easily slot into any handbag.

After having completed my makeup with this and following the Tips and Tricks above to help me come up with a look, it didn’t take long for me to notice the transformation in my complexion. The cream blushes paired with the luminizer add a lot of depth and intrigue to your face and the rest of the makeup lasts well throughout the day.

The kit comes equipped with a single shade of concealer that works a treat for covering acne and acne scars. The ‘luminzer’ included in the kit works wonders as well for creating a more shimmery and dewy look. The highlighter (or brightener) is extremely flattering especially when paired with the light ‘bronzing veil’ which is the powder on the left side of the box.

The two cream blushes are also very sweet looking and they work particularly well at adding a cheery, pastel vibe to your makeup. One is a glowing baby pink, the other a more dark and dramatic shade for a nighttime or even a more daring look.

5.) Soap and Glory Archery DIY Brow Bar

And finally we move onto brows!

This kit has everything you could possibly want for your eyebrows all in one happy little container.

The tint comes in two colours, one for blonder brows and one for darker and brunette brows which is great if you’re like me and somewhere in the middle because you can mix them together until you build up to the right colour.

Included in the packet is also a ‘clarify wax’ which works as a type of primer that holds your eyebrow shape and makes the colour last longer. This works beautifully. There is also an ‘arch highlighter’ for accentuating the shape of your brows and giving the illusion of a higher brow bone.

What I absolutely loved about this palette was the fact that it came with two tiny little makeup brushes. One has a spoolie attached to it so you can easily shape your brows as you do your makeup. It also means that you have a separate brush for both your primer and brow tint. To me this was a nice little touch because it meant that I didn’t have to buy extra makeup brushes, nor will I have to clean my brushes as often. Yay!

All in all, I am super happy with each and every one of these palettes and I really think you might enjoy using them too. ❤

Here is a ‘natural’, rosy look that I came up with using a mixture of all the palettes. (Lips: Benetint. Cheeks: Too Faced No Makeup. Eyes: Naked 3, World Famous Neutrals
